Author Interview from Mothership |
by Tomas Kellner
October 28, 2002. Adventure writer Clive Cussler has
become the literary equivalent of a theme park. He has
120 million copies of his books in print and an estimated
$10 million (per picture) deal with Philip Anschutz's
Crusader Entertainment to bring two books from his shipwreck-hunter
Dirk Pitt series to the big screen. He's also head of
the National Underwater & Marine Agency, a nonprofit
foundation that searches for sunken vessels. The profit
comes from an affiliated line of paperback thrillers
about undersea discovery, called NUMA Files. Need a
souvenir? You can pick up a $1,049 Clive Cussler diving
watch made by the Swiss Doxa S.A.
